Understanding the Impact of Street Patterns on Pedestrian Distribution: A Case Study in Tianjin, China

Abstract This paper investigates the impact of street pattern, metro stations, and density urban functions on pedestrian distribution in Tianjin, China. Thirteen neighborhoods are selected from city center suburbs. Pedestrian vehicle volumes observed through detailed gate count 703 segments these neighborhoods. Regression models constructed to analyze points interest (POIs), accessibility each neighborhood across city. The results show that when analyzing all together, local connectivity POIs had a strong influence distribution. Proximity stations minor impact. When separately, both local- city-scale patterns affect distributions. These findings suggest pattern provides base layer for attract emergence active movement.
